Grant Opportunities:

At the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, our mission focuses on ensuring economic security for Arkansas women and girls through focused philanthropic investment in their education and economic well-being. Through grant making, research, and our Girls of Promise® and Women Empowered initiatives, the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas is investing in real solutions that allow women and girls to move up the economic ladder and reach their full potential. We envision a state in which women achieve economic equity and security, use their voices, have choices, and have opportunities to participate in their communities.

The WFA is the only statewide foundation that focuses solely on women and girls in Arkansas. We support women and girls in Arkansas with a particular interest in marginalized communities.

The WFA encourages proposals that:

  • Support initiatives lasting at least one year

  • Support direct service projects and programs

  • Support STEAM programs for girls

  • Support the economic empowerment of women & girls in Arkansas

The WFA’s 2022 Request for Proposals will be open July 1, 2022 – September 30, 2022.

The grants committee and WFA board will finalize funding decisions in late 2022 and the organizations receiving grants will be notified. 2021 grantees are listed further down on this page.

The online application will be shared on our social media channels and in our monthly e-newsletters. Please follow us on Facebook, on Instagram, and sign up to receive the WFA e-newsletter for information about future funding opportunities.

Applicants will have the option to apply for funding through our two initiatives: Women Empowered and Girls of Promise®.

The goal of Women Empowered is to ensure economic security for all Arkansas women, as well as improve the financial futures of those who have already achieved economic security. Through this initiative we educate, advocate, and innovate around issues of women’s economic security, such as asset building, access to capital, and the wealth gap.

Girls of Promise® is an initiative of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, which aims to help women & girls reach their full economic potential. Girls of Promise® exposes girls to opportunities and mentors in STEAM fields with the goal of  increasing the number of women in higher-level STEAM courses, careers, and putting them on the path to achieve economic security as women.

Funding Request Range:

The WFA will be awarding multiple grants to multiple qualified organizations not to exceed $10,000.00 per award. Proposals may be submitted for a maximum of $10,000.00.

Review & Evaluation Process:

Applications will be reviewed by a grant committee comprised of volunteer community members, who will use a standardized rubric to assess proposal strengths and weaknesses. Final grant making decisions will be made by the WFA staff and board members.
