I’m sure that everyone who supports WFA is also a huge fan of the way more and more companies are both public about their charitable giving and many are allowing their customers to have a say in where these donations are given. Amazon does this through their AmazonSmile program.
What is Amazon Smile?
The basic premis:
When you shop through AmazonSmile, they give 0.5% of the purchase price of tens of millions of items (automatically and without charging you anything extra) to the charity of your choice.
Wow! That’s awesome. So how do I do it?
- Go to smile.amazon.com
- Create an account or log in with your current Amazon account.
- When selecting a charity, search “Women’s Foundation of Arkansas” and select it.
- Shop as usual.
Bonus: If you tell Google Chrome to save your log-in credentials and you accidentally go to amazon.com instead of smile.amazon.com, it’ll ask you if you want to re-direct! (Other browsers may do this, too, but I’m not 100%.)
A detail: Amazon shopping apps don’t apply. If you shop on smile.amazon.com using an internet browser on your desktop or laptop computer, your mobile phone, or your tablet, then your purchases of eligible products (marked “eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on the detail pages) will result in donations. Purchases that are not made using an internet browser (for instance, using the Amazon Shopping App, Kindle Store, FireTV, Amazon Dash, or Amazon Echo) are not currently eligible for donations.
Of course, I’m telling you this now because holiday shopping season is upon us! So when you’re shopping for, say, holiday gifts, any of Amazon’s Cyber Monday deals, or not-locally-available things (and haven’t already done so), now is a great time to set up your Amazon Smile account to benefit the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas.
