Special events give WFA’s supporters a chance to coalesce around our mission in a physical way – whether by sharing their expertise or becoming inspired by amazing role models.

Girls of Promise®

Girls of Promise® is proven to encourage girls to continue pursuing higher-level science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) courses past eighth grade, with goals towards careers in these fields.

Since 1999, more than 5,000 eighth-grade girls have been introduced to women with careers in STEM fields, participated in hands-on learning activities, and met other girls passionate about learning through their participation at Girls of Promise® conferences. Learn more.

Join WFA's Northwest Arkansas Advisory Council for an evening with the directors of The Empowerment Project, a film that challenges all of us to ask ourselves – “What would you do if you weren’t afraid to fail?” The WFA’s Northwest Arkansas Council will host a screening of the film followed by a Q&A with the directors themselves. A silent auction will kick-off the evening and feature hand-painted purses designed by local artists. Proceeds will allow all 8th grade girls in NWA to see this impactful film.

Stories of Empowerment

Stories of Empowerment is a four-part collaboration between the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas and ESSE Purse Museum.

Our joint series aspires to encourage togetherness and understanding over our shared experiences of womanhood. Each evening will be full of fun and fellowship and guests will engage with old friends and new over thoughtful and provoking conversation, accompanied by light refreshments and libations.

While ESSE Purse Museum celebrates and honors the journey of the American woman throughout the 20th Century, the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas fosters the forward-moving path of women today. With our Stories of Empowerment series, the WFA and ESSE intend to further these missions of honoring our past and supporting and strengthening our future. Learn more.
